Tara Car Rentals — Renter Agreement

This Renter Agreement (“Agreement”) governs the rental of vehicles through Tara Car Rentals (“Company,” “we,” “us,” “our”). By booking a rental, you (“Renter”) agree to the terms below.


1. Eligibility

  • Renter must be at least 21 years old.
  • Renter must hold a valid Philippine driver’s license (or internationally recognized license if applicable).
  • Only the declared renter may drive unless additional drivers are listed and approved.

2. Reservations & Payment

  • Reservations are confirmed only after receipt of a reservation fee or security deposit.
  • Full rental payment must be made before or at vehicle pickup.
  • Accepted payments: bank transfer, GCash, or cash (unless otherwise specified).

3. Use of Vehicle

  • Vehicle may only be used for lawful, personal, or business travel.
  • Strictly prohibited: illegal activity, racing, reckless driving, or subleasing.
  • Renter is responsible for fuel, tolls, and parking fees.

4. Responsibility & Liability

  • Renter is liable for any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle during the rental period (subject to insurance coverage).
  • All traffic violations, penalties, and towing fees are the renter’s responsibility.
  • Late returns will incur hourly or daily excess charges based on agreed rates.

5. Insurance & Security Deposit

  • All vehicles carry at least CTPL insurance; some may include comprehensive insurance.
  • A security deposit may be required and is refundable upon safe return of the vehicle, minus any deductions for damage or unpaid fees.

6. Cancellation & Refunds

  • Renter cancellations are permitted only if the reservation fee or deposit has not been received.
  • Once received, renter cancellations are non-refundable.
  • If a host cancels, the renter will receive a full refund or option to rebook.

7. Return of Vehicle

  • Renter must return the vehicle on the agreed date, time, and location.
  • Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup.

8. Breach of Agreement

The Company reserves the right to terminate the rental immediately and forfeit payments/deposits if the renter breaches this Agreement.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes shall be resolved in the proper courts of Leyte.
